A Magic Surge Accident (Japanese: 魔力暴走事故, Hepburn: Maryokubōsō jiko) of unprecedented magnitude occurred at the Central Magic Academy in the Cathedral City in 995 AD.
History
The specifics of the accident, which allegedly involved a chanting error during the casting witch's use of a secret art, were unknown. The dust from the resultant explosion was later described as a giant flower blotting out the night sky.[1][1.1]
Legacy
The impact of the accident that engulfed the city was severe, with people vanishing from the city overnight, rendering it a ghost town. However, there was no major impact on the buildings and the like.[1.1] It also marked the end of the Magic Academy as an organisation.[2][2.1]
