Ten Tragic Nights
(Redirected from Ten Nights of Tragedy)

Ten Tragic Nights (Japanese: 十夜の悲劇, Hepburn: Jūya no higeki) is the name given to the event that took place over the course of ten nights in 868 AD. Due to a severe food shortage, the Cathedral City was unable to accept any more refugees. In order to restrict the influx of refugees, the Chaldean Gate was built over the course of three nights. Subsequently, a battle ensued between the refugees and the City Self-Defense Forces, which lasted for a further seven nights.[1][1.1]
Behind the scenes
Etymology
The name is likely a reference to the Ten Tragic Days (Japanese: 悲劇の十日間, Hepburn: Higeki no tōkakan), a multi-day coup d'état in Mexico City by opponents of Francisco I. Madero, the democratically elected president of Mexico, between 9-19 February 1913.
